I am sorry that I am so late in posting for this week. It has been a very busy week. We are taking mid-year assessments, getting ready for the Fun Run, and getting ready for report cards to come home next week.
You should have received an email from the school today about the flu. Our absentee numbers have been going up each day, so please be vigilant in monitoring your child's health.
We have started a new research unit on Natural Disasters. Students will be completing this project at school. This project will cover Science, Social Studies, Lang. Arts and even a little Math.
Speaking of Math, your child needs to memorize their multiplication facts at home. I have asked that they practice 10 minutes each night. They may practice on the computer, with flash cards, or with pencil & paper. We are finishing up on division for now, and will be working on charts, graphs and tables in the coming weeks.
In Reading we are learning about text features in non-fiction books & magazines. Ask your child to tell you about some. Also, the Six Flags 6 hours of reading form went home yesterday. I encourage evertone to participate. If your child reads for 6 hrs between now and Feb.18 (which they definately should do) then they get a free Six Flags ticket.
Hope to see you at tomorrow's Fun Run.
Please look left for upcoming dates.
