Week 19 Go with the Flow

It is good to be getting back in the flow. You would be surprised how much work it takes to get the kids back in the school routine after the 2 weeks off.

We are continuing our research on Natural Disasters. This project will be completed at school, and you will have the opportunity to see and hear about all the great work at Open House in March. I know it sounds like a long way off, but February starts this Friday.

In math we will continue to study charts and graphs. If you see any charts or graphs in the real world (magazines, financial reports, etc.) please share them with your student. We want them to understand that what they are learning is a life long skill.

Reading will focus on making inferences this week. Which involves students using their background knowledge and information they read to make predictions. It is a sometimes difficult but very important reading skill.

Report cards were sent home Friday. Please let Miguel and I know if you have any questions about your child's progress.

Mr. Mac would love to have you join him this Friday for “Mr. Mac’s 2nd Cup of Coffee” Parent meeting – Friday, Feb. 1st at 8:30.

Our topic will be Dual Language & this is for ALL parents – not just our DL parents. So invite your friend to come learn more about what we do. Some of the DL teachers including myself will talk about the DL program.
